PAEDIATRIC OSTEOPATHY
Paediatric osteopathy is a specialised branch of osteopathy that is focused on treating babies, infants, and children. The treatment involves the use of hands-on techniques to manipulate the body’s musculoskeletal system, with the aim of improving circulation, reducing tension, and promoting healing.
Paediatric osteopathy is based on the same principles as adult osteopathy, but it is tailored specifically to the needs of babies and children. This means that the techniques used are very gentle, and are designed to suit the delicate and developing bodies of babies and children.
There are a number of reasons why babies and children may benefit from osteopathic treatment. For example, babies may experience tension or discomfort as a result of a difficult delivery, including those born via C-section or with the use of vaccum or forceps, or intrauterine positioning.
One of the key ways that osteopathy can benefit babies and children is by improving their musculoskeletal function.
